The Permanent staff of the Commission is made up as follows:
- Two Coordinating Directors, one on top of each division
- Directors (Seven at Headoffice and Ten in the regions)
- District Officers (one hundred and ten with twenty-eight on attachment)
- Twenty Headoffice Senior Electoral Officers
- About a thousand and ten (1010) other categories distributed among the Regional and District offices.
TEMPORARY STAFF OF THE COMMISSION
During its field exercises the commission recruits numerous temporary staff in the categories of Registration/Returning officers, Deputy Registration/Returning Officers and Presiding Officers and Polling Assistants if the exercise is an election.
The Presiding and Polling Assistants are recruited five to a centre. The commission currently operates twenty-one thousand centres. In addition the Commission engages several temporary drivers during exercises such elections and registration.
