The Commission is organized into two major functional divisions – Operations and Finance & Administration – each of which is headed by a deputy chairman. In turn, each functional division is sub-divided into departments, headed by Directors Some of the departments are also divided into section headed by sectional heads. Some of the departments are also divided into sections headed by Sectional Heads.
The head office of the Commission is located in Accra on 8th Avenue, opposite, Ridge Hospital.
The 1992 Constitution requires the Commission to have representation in each administrative region and district of Ghana. Accordingly, the Commission has offices in the country’s 10 regional capitals headed by Directors and 110 district offices headed District Electoral Officers. The recent creation of 28 additional districts has necessitated the appointment of additional districts officers. Pending the establishment of their own offices these new district officers are currently on attachment to the older district officers for purposes of orientation and training.
